So earlier this week, they had the smarter "subset" of the kids in the class take a test to see who would get into the "advanced" classes. I'm guessing they wanted to take the top 1/3 of students (since there are three classes per grade). The problem wasn't that G did poorly on the test. That would have been somewhat bearable. The dude didn't even QUALIFY to take the test.
Like WTF?!?
I want my kids to be happy. I'm not going to force my kid to go into med school or play piano or any of the other stereotypical things Asian parents make their kids do. But to fall to what I'm picturing to be the "middle of the pack" is unacceptable - that's just a stone's throw from being a retard. I think there's at least one girl who barely speaks English in his class, so WTF?!?Another benefit of moving to Texas... not living with the shame all of next year.
It's not *that* bad tho. To be continued.
Seriously enough to make me lose my appetite...
WHAT'S FOR DINNER?
Not! C'mon! G is only in the second grade - plenty of time for me to rectify the situation. And as far as I can tell, he is a somewhat bright kid. Pretty sure Dartmouth isn't going to ask for his 2nd grade transcript as part of his application.
Thank God Mrs. Fly can make me a low carb dinner like this one to make me drown my sorrows. O wait - that's what the three glasses of wine are for. That spicy cream sauce really kicks ass - puts everything over the top.
