Sad day in FlyLand. A family member passed away a few days ago... my sister's dog, Lola. She was a german shepard and doberman mix that my sister picked up ten years ago at the local animal shelter. Lola basically looked like Santa's Little Helper from the Simpsons. It's kind of hard to say what made her pick this particular breed mix... because many women are into those "cute" ridiculous dogs you instinctively want to step on, like you would when you see a rat or a bug. Maybe she liked the Simpsons more than I realized.
To be honest, Lola wasn't my "favorite" family member. Whenever I went over she kept jumping up and smacking me in the nuts with her paw (repeatedly). It made me consider whether I should be wearing an athletic cup whenever I went over. Then after a few times of making sure she got both nuts, she would turn around and whip me a few times with her ridiculously hard tail. Not the kind of "whipped by a sleek lady" I would appreciate. And when we left, our clothes (mostly our socks) would be covered in dog hair. Ditto for when my sister borrowed our car.
But in the end, I loved her because my sister loved her. It's sad to lose someone who had been a part of the family for a decade. We'll miss you little gal.
