As you read this, we should be at the airport on our way to Tampa to visit Mrs. Fly's friend. They just randomly happened to meet one day and after a bit of conversation, they figured out they grew up in the same area of Northern VA and Mrs. Fly's brother knew her brother. Small world. So they've been good friends ever since.
They have a nice pool under a lanai, so the kids will have a really good time. I might even be able to squeeze in a few hands of poker, since the husband works and the women probably want me to get lost. THE DOUBLEFLY - repulsing women of all 50 states.
This will be D's first time on a plane. So this should be interesting. I'm thinking we need to bring a lot of juice and candy, so that he can swallow and get used to the change in air pressure. It's only like 2.5 hours in the air, so it shouldn't be too bad. A portable DVD player with a few Thomas the Tank engine episodes should do the trick. Hopefully we won't be one of those cases of people getting thrown off the plane. I thought I heard they had to ask a family to leave the plane because the baby was too loud. And there have been more than a few instances of people being asked to leave for being too fat... So, uh oh! Maybe I should have lost some weight. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
POKER
FT started to offer 2/4 full ring rush. I have mixed feelings about it. It's going to kill about half the regular tables there were (and there weren't that many). All things being equal, I prefer to have regular tables over rush tables. But overall, it'll increase the number of players playing 2/4, so I guess I can't complain too much. I'm not sure if it's all me just running bad, but I feel a bit lost on what people are doing. The play at the rush tables is much different at 2/4 rush than at 1/2 rush, and also when compared to the 2/4 regular games. I'll post my thoughts on the game, once I play enough to have some thoughts.
