Yesterday, Mrs. Fly and I went to see a movie for the first time in months. I got up late morning and since the tables are dead at that time of day, we went to see a matinee showing of Knight and Day. It was better than I thought. I'm not really a big Tom Cruise fan, so I suppose it helps that I had fairly low expectations. Not a big Cameron Diaz fan either. Altho now that I think about it, I suppose I could be persuaded otherwise. Cameron, you seem a little busy, but would you mind reaching over and holding my phone for me? Thanks.
We had lunch afterward at a nearby Asian restaurant. They have a bunch of cheap lunch specials, but they are small (especially the sushi lunches), so we end up getting THREE lunch specials for the TWO of us. It's a miracle I get any food considering the way Mrs. Fly eats. Unbelievable! I could be a 257lb poster-child for hunger.
Yesterday, one of the handful of "older" poker players I know (married with kids) decided to stop playing online poker. He had a full time job, but it seemed like he wasn't enjoy it as much as he used to and the games are getting harder so he decided to give it up. There are probably a dozen or so married guys with kids that I know from the forums - mostly it's young college guys. He was also a good poster in the poker forum, so it's sad when you lose a member of your posse.
It got me to thinking whether the time will come when I stop enjoying playing poker. Hard to say - since I hate to lose, the worse I get, the more I want to play. I suppose it's possible that if I keep on being mediocre over a long period of time that I could start losing interest. But I dunno - I still haven't lost interest in sex. :-)
