Lately, people have been 3betting light as well as calling 4bets IP light. I've been making a small fortune from tards who insist on playing bloated pots with crap hands. Last month, I've made $5.5K in pots where I've 4bet and people have flatted my 4bet. That's an unbelievable number, as it accounts for a whopping 38% of my winnings last month. Thank you Phil Galfond for creating a new breed of fish. For those of you who don't know, Phil made a famous philosophy video on BlueFire on flatting 4bets. This is the pseudo-fish edition (reg-fish and reg editions to follow in the coming weeks)... Villain was a fishy 30/20/8 over 100 hands or so.
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $4.00 BB (9 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
MP1 ($423.45)
MP2 ($331.40)
MP3 ($425)
CO ($400)
Button ($1416.10)
SB ($374)
BB ($188)
Hero (UTG) ($518)
UTG+1 ($267.05)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with K
, A
Hero bets $12, 1 fold, MP1 raises to $32, 6 folds, Hero raises to $100, MP1 calls $68
[The whole premise of the light 3bet from EP or MP is that it looks super-strong. So when you get 4bet after you made an unusually strong looking 3bet and you are holding a bluff hand, you need to FOLD!!!]
Flop: ($206) Q
, 6
, K
(2 players)Hero checks, MP1 checks
[I can't rep missing this flop with my value range, but the dude looks fishy enough where maybe he'll do something stupid. Obviously, if he has QQ+ and is trapping by flatting, I was f*cked anyway.]
Turn: ($206) 7
(2 players)Hero checks, MP1 bets $200, Hero raises to $418 (All-In), MP1 calls $123.45 (All-In)
[The super-polarizing bet - he either was slowplaying his near-nuts or this is a bluff. But I'm not folding TPTK to a moron. Arr In!]
River: ($852.90) 5
(2 players, 2 all-in)Total pot: $852.90 | Rake: $3
Main pot: $852.90 between MP1 and Hero, won by Hero
Results:
Hero had K
, A
(one pair, Kings).MP1 had 10
, A
(high card, Ace).Outcome: Hero won $849.90
If he thought his "A" outs were good, he's close to getting the right odds to call. But c'mon! How can his "A" outs be good after you get shoved on?!? TBH, not sure if I played this correctly, since he might have called down or shoved flop if I bet. But he was aggro, so I felt like he would bet. All this could have been avoided if he just folded to the 3bet. TY Fish.
