And now, in this segment of my blog, I spend a little time talking about the best part of my poker game. That's right - the rakeback. Last month, I came in 4th place in my rake race (even tho I took a week off) and got $1750. What I don't make up in quality, I make up for in volume, baby! Just ask Mrs. Fly.I'm going to have a nice lunch with Mrs. Fly today. At least things in my non-poker life are still good.
While I'm doing homework with G, he asks me what beaver teeth are. He lost some teeth, but his teeth look normal. So I google it, show him a picture and explain. But I happen to notice the third entry down and it's from UrbanDictionary: "a man or woman who uses their teeth when giving a blow job. Hence the name "beaver."" Umm... there is obviously a subculture I am completely out of touch with. I got a good chuckle out of it - gnawing on wood. LOL The things you learn doing homework with your 6 year old.
HANDS
So yesterday, I was saying how some of the regs had added some aggression to their games. I open AK UTG, UTG+1 cold calls me and villain also cold calls from late position. The flop comes down Jx3 with 2 clubs. I cbet, UTG+1 calls, and villain raises to 4+x. I fold, UTG+1 shoves and villain thinks about it and calls off the other 2/3 of this stack with JTo!!! I mean wtf is that? This is someone who I thought was somewhat passive and relatively straightforward. Of course he gets stacked by 33. I feel like I'm a little out of touch with the current full ring games. Anyway, I made a note and I'll be sure to add a few hands to my calling range.
