[EDIT:  Turns out Disco got a 1mo suspension!]

We had some drama the past week in the SSFR thread.  One regular (Disco) posted something like "anyone want to split 1 million hands with me?"  It is illegal to purchase and use hand histories that you have not participated in.  So another regular (Vizer) sent links of that request as well as transcripts of personal messages he had with Disco which showed that Disco purchased hand histories.  FT has suspended Disco's account for "review."  It was well within FT's rights to close his account and redistribute the money to other "players affected."  That probably would have been like cutting off someone's hand for stealing.  A ban didn't seem right to me, but it's not like it would have been unheard of.  In the end, FT reinstated his account.  No harm.  No foul.

Or was there?

I don't think I had ever seen a more blatant case of purchasing hand histories.  The written evidence was overwhelming - you basically would have to be a reading moron to think there was no HHs purchased.  If this was a "jury by peers" system, I can't see how the vote wouldn't have been unanimous.  But there was no "definite" proof - like a receipt.  In that way, I suppose FT was swayed by a "it was a level" (a joke) defense.  Whether it was ignorance or greed, they let a high volume reg off the hook.  I think Disco probably should have gotten some kind of slap on the wrist - like a 1-3 month ban or something.

So in my mind, this basically gives the green light to go and purchase hand histories on FT.  Because no one is EVER going to be as silly as to post all that evidence.  So if FT is not going to do anything about a blatant case, they are NEVER going to do anything if you "don't ask, don't tell."  Happy hand history purchasing!  :-(

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?

Now that Mrs. Fly discovered the secret to awesome orange sauce, she's been using it on foods other than chicken wings.  This dish tasted like a lighter version of the General Tso's chicken you find at your local Chinese takeout place.  Much better tho, because there was no absurdly thick batter.  I wonder how orange beef would taste.  That's one of my favorites...  (hint hint)  Boy!  I sure did work up an appetite writing all those "cover-up" blog posts the last few Friday.  Phew - so much work.
