I managed to salvage the week with some late run-good. Since FT's latest upgrade, the timebank portion of TNFT no longer works, so I haven't played many hands this week. I also cashed in 2 of the 3 FTOPS events I entered, so I have to be content with not flushing more money down the toilet. Whee! Coincidentally, they started a "Used to Win But Just Break Even Now" thread. They need to elect me their leader.
As previously mentioned, I played my first session on Stars (I think this year). Nothing really worth writing home about... only played 1276 hands and made $563. I started off 2-4 tabling while I set up TableNinja and played around with the default options. Towards the end of the session, I felt comfortable enough to 8 table. This of course is still a massive beat, because the Stars tables feel a little slower than Full Tilt tables. Not sure if this is actually true (since the hands/hour stat in the lobbies look the same), or if it's something about the software that just feels slower.
One of the major problems I had was in differentiating between the 20-50 BB games and the 40-100BB games. IMO, the shorter stack games require a smaller open raise size. This is because of all the 20BB stacks waiting to jam on you, and because you can still get in 50BBs comfortably with three streets of betting. I usually set my default raise size on FT to be 3x and 2.5x from the steal positions, but just for simplicity, on Stars, I set it to 2,5x and 2x respectively to have both types of tables covered. I would ideally like to go 3x for the 100BB tables and 2x for the 50BB tables, but setting to 2.5 seemed like it was the best solution (without me having to type out all my bet sizes). But I still got confused as to which tables were which, so I decided the best thing to do is to stack tables. I started to set up two stacks - one of 20-50BB tables and another with 40-100BB tables. Table Ninja lets you hotkey up to 4 different stacks, so I'm going to try this out and see how it goes. After I work out the kinks, I think by early next year, I should be 16 tabling, with no problem.
WHAT'S FOR DINNER?
Just to show you that we do have "fish" once in a while for dinner. These are skinless frozen salmon fillets we get from Costco. So much fish flavor I can barely contain myself!!! (level obviously) Anyway, Mrs. Fly whipped up a shrimp sauce to go on top of it, so that mercifully added back some flavor.
