I went to college at one of the few "non-Asian" colleges in the US (where the Asian population was < 20% - Yes!  Such a thing exists).  So I've been to my share of all types of parties.  The country club dance party got me to thinking that there is just some dance music you never find at an Asian party, and some dance music you never find at an American Caucasian party.  I had to emphasize "American" because since many of the "Asian" artists are European, so I assume they are more popular overseas.

TOP 5 ARTISTS YOU FIND AT A WHITE PARTY BUT NOT AT AN ASIAN PARTY
5. Beatles - shocking how Twist and Shout is still popular after almost 50 years.  Snap broke her heel twisting.
4. AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long is one of the best songs EVER.  Just not for dancing.
3. Cher - really?!?  I "Believe" I'm at the wrong party.
2. Kiss - I Wanna Rock N Roll is the perfect song for people who can't dance - since you can just hop in one place.
1. Jimmy Buffet - anyone got a light?

TOP 5 ARTISTS YOU FIND AT AN ASIAN PARTY BUT NOT AT A WHITE PARTY (I also put some links since most of you guys are white and may not have any idea what I'm talking about.  Disclaimer: most of these artists are European and from the 80s and therefore UNBELIEVABLY flaming - have a fire extinguisher handy.)
5. Fine Young Cannibals - I could have gone with Depeche Mode, Yaz, etc, but I hadn't heard Suspicious Minds in a while, so I went with that.
4. New Order - I thought New Order was universal, but obviously not.
3. Modern Talking - most Modern Talking songs sound the same Cheri Cheri Lady, Brother Louie, etc.  This one is a little different.
2. Communards - it just doesn't get any gayer than two guys falsetto singing.
1. Erasure - no night is complete without Oh L'Amour.  One of Mrs. Fly's favorite songs.
