Our area got ravaged by high speed winds over the weekend.  Trees had fallen all over the place - power still isn't back to all houses.  We knew four families who had to find other housing for a few days while the electricity was being worked on.  I think the town only recently cleared most of the fallen trees off the roads in our area.

School was cancelled for the past 3 days, and it looks like it'll be closed the rest of the week.  So rather than have a bunch of 6 year olds run amok, Mrs. Fly arranged for a series of play dates, and I was able to get in a some poker during the day.  Yesterday G asks me if we can go to McDonald's for breakfast.  Ah... he's a chip off the old block.  So what's a good dad to do even tho he's supposed to be losing weight?!?  Alas.  The "sacrifices" we make for our kids.  DoubleFly 1 - Food 7.
WHAT's FOR DINNER?

We have some friends who still have no electricity in their house. Mrs. Fly did the neighborly thing and invited them over to dinner for a home cooked meal. This is also the family we're going to Orlando with next month.

Eating take out around here is pretty disasterous. Chicken paprika was on the menu tonight. I don't think I've ever seen it on any restaurant menu, but Mrs. Fly got it from some cookbook and made her own adaptations. It's really outstanding and has a "home cooked" taste that really satisfies.
