I just looked at my totals after 5 days (after 22+K hands), and I'm "only" down 22% in rake (comparing my actual to what HEM has). One thing to be careful of... you can't look at your account page on raketherake - that includes any MGR hits from anything you may have redeemed (so your drop in rake will look even bigger). For me, I had to look at the rake race to see what rake I got credited with. In previous months, my HEM rake and RTR rake race figure were within 2% of each other, but last month, they diverged 6%. Not sure why. So it's plausible the new wc system only hit me -16% in rake under the new weighted contribution system. [Edit: turns out the rake race was changed from using "gross rake" to "net rake" (less any MGR hits), so I'm probably hit for a tad less than 22%).For comparison purposes, two-thirds of that play was at Rush poker, and at the 9-handed games, I'm running 16.6/12/3.8 3bet, which I'm pretty sure is average to maybe slightly above average for a "regular" in those games. Obviously, the occasional 35/15 player is going to skew the table average. So I don't think it would be a stretch to say that if *I'm* getting hit for 6% of effective rakeback (from the dealt method), that a vast majority of the Rush REGULARS are getting hit and getting hit pretty hard.
I'm losing 6% rakeback on the new rake calculation and gaining 5% on the other stuff (Black Card, etc), so net, it's a 1% loss overall. While this may not necessarily be, "I need to move to Stars ASAP" territory, it's not making me particularly thrilled to play at FT. And I'm probably one of the *lesser-affected* regulars in the full ring games (esp rush). While I understand the concept of crediting rakeback where credit is due, I think when you start screwing over the majority of the regulars in a particular game, that can't possibly be good for business. Not when the US looks to be opening the doors for additional competitors next year.
Fortunately, I think FT can do a few simple things for full ring and rush players via some combination of the various suggestions out there on 2+2.
WHAT'S FOR DINNER?
Mrs. Fly will cook most nights, but some night, she needs an easy meal because of that day's busy schedule. On one of those days, she may just go pick up a roasted chicken from Costco. FWIW, Costco has by far the best rotisserie chicken out there (at least in our area). The chicken's always moist (even the breast!) and flavorful, with a rich fatty taste. I'm pretty sure they brine the chicken beforehand and probably baste it with some sort of butter / oil. Whatever it is, it's super-good - the photo isn't that great, but the taste is. And the whole chicken is only like $6 LOL. I think the uncooked whole chicken costs almost as much in most supermarkets.
