The other day, I "exercised" yesterday for the first time in years. I had occasionally done "active" stuff around the house... I use the terms "occasionally" and "active" very loosely. We have a nice Precor treadmill downstairs that Mrs. Fly used to get rid of her pregnancy weight (maybe funny story in a later post). So I just walked briskly for 30+ minutes on a steep incline. I figure I should just start slow and see which body parts break down. So far I feel pretty good - probably because all I did was walk!
The problem with being fat is that it makes certain forms of exercise a little more difficult. I used to run for fun in college, but I think I have too much mass now to run without joint soreness. I also have a Concept II rowing machine (which I also loved to do during college), but I think I may get some back pain. Anyway, I'll look to resume those activities later in the year, when I'm in better shape. I also wouldn't mind taking another marital art, but I'm not going to get too far ahead of myself.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?
A boiled egg, banana and 6 slices of turkey. Very unphoto-worthy, but it was filling. Filling but not satisfying. :-( But I think this is a good way for me to get Mrs. Fly to make me more fish. When I start jonesing for that steak, I'll probably switch over to a low carb diet or something. But low carb diets always make me tired. Imagine that! Forcing yourself though tiredness causes you to lose weight!
