Afterwards, we went to the Outback steakhouse for dinner. Diet lol. In New York State, they passed a law where chain restaurants have to list the number of calories on the menu. I never looked at that info before, and it's probably been over a decade since I cared about calories. Imagine that! Anyway, I was pretty shocked at some of the calorie numbers:
Chicken quesadilla 2140Baby back ribs 1936
Rack of lamb 1778
Bacon cheeseburger 1627
Bloomin burger 1575
Bloomin onion 1552
Kookaburra wings 1377
Ribeye 14oz 1193
Prime rib 16oz 1167
Porterhouse 22oz 1112
Strip 14oz 713
Filet 9oz 725
Sirloin 12oz 559
Salmon 525
Thankfully, the steaks were actually *relatively* low in calories! Maybe it's the poor marbling of Outback steaks I talked about last year. Thankfully, there is little correlation between the high calorie count items on the menu and the stuff that I like to eat. Like there is no way I would prefer the burger or Bloomin Onion to a STEAK!!! Shoot! I can actually have TWO strip steaks and still be better off than having a burger. Now that's what I call WIN baby! But I just had *one* with veggies, mashed potatoes and wine. A nice 1500 calorie meal. I think I was still under 2500 for the day, so that wasn't too bad for a splurge day. I think I'll post regular bi-weekly updates on the weight. I don't think much will change, since I'm trying to lose a pound a week. But it'll force me to think about my weight more and keep on top of it.
So my first mid-month weigh in is 261.8. I suppose I'm on pace, so that's good. I've only been working out like 2x a week, but this month was pretty hectic for me. Gotta squeeze in another workout or two a week going forward.
