 This week *almost* made me forget about that year-end collapse.  Almost.  Anyway, I've been pretty busy with New Year stuff, so I haven't been able to get in much volume.  Hopefully, I'll be able to make some of it up next week.  120K hands a month seems like a pretty tall order this month...  especially considering some of the random things I have going on, both personally and civicly.

Next week is my first day of jury duty for the state of Connecticut.  I don't mind doing my civic duty like the next guy, but in my particular case, it really is a huge waste of my time.  That's because my views on punishment are probably somewhat extreme.  You basically have to be a retard of a defense attorney to want me on your jury.  In a nutshell, in DoubleFly's World:
   murder --> the chair
   robbery --> the chair
   burglary --> the chair
   rape -->  castration, then the chair
   terrorism --> torture for 1-12 months, then the chair
you get the idea.  I'm not saying people shouldn't have rights, but we live in a world with our fellow man.  If you f*ck up big-time (and there's evidence to prove it), I don't see why society's resources need to be perpetually drained to keep you around.  Did you expect anything less from a heathen?!?

I heard from somewhere that Asian males are stereotypically one of the worst people to have on a jury.  I'm guessing no Asian males on the OJ jury.  The only group I can see being more stereotypically extreme are muslims.  Anyway, a few days sitting around in the waiting room, collecting my $40 a day shouldn't be too painful.  I have a bunch of poker videos and podcasts I've been meaning to watch on my itouch.  If I thought about it ahead of time, I probably could have arranged to played some poker while I'm there.  But I'm not sure how secure that would be.  A few days off from the grind may do me some good.

If I send anyone to the chair, I'll post a trip report.
